Experienced Welder

Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Fabrication Shop Foreman, this position performs structural steel welding and fabrication for a variety of jobs. Compliance with AWS D1.1 regulations and the IronWorks Quality Assurance program is required. In addition, this position needs to collaborate with other team members, work within the production schedule, proactively maintain all tools and equipment used, and follow all safety precautions. This position requires an experienced, energetic, and detail-focused individual that wants to be a part of a growing team and company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fabrication and welding and have the drive, and skills required to be an exceptional part of our team.

Essential Functions

  1. Read blueprints and take or read measurements to plan layout and fit-up procedures.
  2. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on company standards and guidance from management and/or in house CWI.
  3. Prepare raw material for welding according to blueprints and specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws, punch holes, shear plate etc.)
  4. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
  5. Align components using calipers, tape measures and clamp pieces in place.
  6. Weld components using various types of welding equipment and processes in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead).
  7. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  8. Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  9. Ensure that all company and industry regulated quality standards are maintained.
  10. Responsible to ensure hours are logged to proper jobs.
  11. Work extended hours and occasional weekends as per job requirements.
  12. Work independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects.

Qualifications

    1.  Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial welding.
    2.  Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding techniques is required.
    3.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
    4.  Experience using calipers for precise measurements.
    5.  Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
    6.  Certification as a Welding Inspector is preferred but not mandatory.
    7.  Familiarity with a variety of welding equipment and tools, including power tools and   hand tools.
    8.  Knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques.
    9.  Experience in working with sheet metal and pipe threading is a plus.
   10. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations are essential.
   11. Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or related industries is beneficial.
   12. Ability to operate a crane, forklift, and other machinery safely.
   13. Understanding of mechanical systems and components.
   14. Familiarity with ductwork, machining, soldering, and interpreting schematics is advantageous.

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. High School Diploma (Associate’s Degree preferred).
  2. Two years to five years steel welding experience.
Industrial Painter

Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Coatings Manager, this position performs industrial coating/painting
steel for a variety of jobs. Compliance with the IronWorks Quality Assurance program is required. In
addition, this position needs to collaborate with other team members, work within the production
schedule, proactively maintain all tools and equipment used, and follow all safety precautions. This
position requires an experienced, energetic, and detail-focused individual with good dexterity that
wants to be a part of a growing team and company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in
industrial coating/painting and have the drive, and skills required to be an exceptional part of our team.

Essential Functions
1. Read blueprints and drawings to understand customer specifications for the job.
2. Determine the appropriate paint needed based on requirements.
3. Prepare the surface, masking and cleaning.
4. Prepare the paint, use measurement equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gages and
gloss gages to check the makeup of the paint, and use your understanding of chemistry to mix
the appropriate compounds for the job.
5. Apply paint using a variety of equipment such as Graco airless pumps, pressure pots, electrostatic
painters and lines and paint guns.
6. Clean work area carefully following guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous
chemicals and waste.
7. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
8. Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely, meeting customer delivery expectations.
9. Work extended hours as per job requirements.
10. Work independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects.
11. Any other task as directed by management.

Sandblaster

Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Paint Shop Plant Manager, this position performs industrial steel sandblasting for a variety of jobs. Compliance with the Quality Assurance program is required. In addition, this position needs to collaborate with other team members, work within the production schedule, proactively maintain all tools and equipment used, and follow all safety precautions. This position requires an experienced, energetic, and detail-focused individual with good dexterity that wants to be a part of a growing team and company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sandblasting and have the drive, and skills required to be an exceptional part of our team.

Essential Functions
1. Read blueprints and drawings to understand customer specifications for the job.
2. Determine the appropriate abrasive needed based on requirements.
3. Load parts on racks and place into the sandblast booth.
4. Prepare the surface, masking and cleaning.
5. Adjust valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through the nozzle.
6. Manually direct nozzle over the surface of the small to large sized steel parts and manipulate to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, rust, etc. from the surface.
7. Clean work area carefully following guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of abrasives.
8. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
9. Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely, meeting customer delivery expectations.
10. Work extended hours as per job requirements.
11. Work independently and within a team on special and ongoing projects.
12. Any other task as directed by management.

Qualifications
1. High School Diploma.
2. Two years to five years industrial sandblasting experience preferred.

Physical Demands
This position is largely standing, lifting up to 50 lbs. with reaching, bending and stooping.
